Self-employment is a foreign workforce that meets all of the following requirements for self-employment immigration and earns a score of 35 or higher to be processed by the Federal Government Immigration or Quebec Immigration Service, which is subject to limited admission and high waiting time.

In terms of immigration law, a self-employed person is someone who meets at least one of the following five years before signing his / her immigration forms:

– Two full years of self-employment in cultural and artistic activities
– Two years of international cultural and artistic activities
– One full year of self-employment in the field of cultural – artistic activities plus one year of all international cultural – artistic activities

Applicants must provide a strong, comprehensive business plan, convincing an immigration officer who is able to start a personal business with his or her own investment, and is determined to earn a permanent residence in Canada to earn a living from his or her occupational pathway. Also, a self-employed Canadian immigrant must prove that he or she has the ability to start a business in Canada and has an acceptable level of English or French and that he / she can create a job for himself / herself. There is no minimum financial ability for this program, but the immigration officer must be convinced that the self-employed immigrant is financially capable of supporting himself and his family, as well as having the financial capacity to start employment.

An athlete or artist is meant to be internationally recognized or at the highest level in the field, and other people recognize him/her at that level.

Farmers should be pay attention that buying a farm in Canada will be expensive. Farmers must prove that they are aware of all aspects of Canadian farm management, including Canada’s geography, water and soil issues, and Canada’s agricultural laws.
